For me, the epitome of Scottish Wildlife is the Red Squirrel. Whenever I see one it puffs me up with national pride, particularly when so many of the few that are left in the UK reside north of the border. Close behind the Red Squirrel (again, for me) comes the Crested Tit. Another elusive creature, within the UK the Crested Tit has found its home in the pine forests around Inverness and Aviemore.
A couple of weeks ago my wife (my beloved supporter and tripod carrier ) and I spend a day in the old Caledonian Forest on the Black Isle just north of Inverness hoping to get a few shots of 'Scottish Wildlife'. I was blessed with an abundance of opportunities and I came away with lots of keepers, some of which are shown below. I'll let you decide which is which
Another interesting series with all showing "points to the sky." Sharp and well composed. I especially like the first three--expressive, detailed, and with nice lighting/color.

Very good series David! I think your squirrel shots are phenomenal!
on photo 9 and 10 there seems to be some spatial artefacts in the background that disturbs the photo, maybe too steep compression?
Very nice set David. #2 & #3 are superb Quite a neat pose in #2. That is a really photogenic stump in #5. Another lovely shot. Good work in the tits too.
