It's the JPG engine of A7R. I shot RAW+JPG, and that is the SOOC JPG. I checked my original, in case Flickr was distorting it, but no, it looks like that SOOC. The RAW of course has no hint of bad gradients.

Yup that's one reason to shoot raw. I thought the SOOC jpgs looked pretty good, but then I upgraded LR, and just using auto settings makes the same photos look so much better than SOOC.
Shot this afternoon with the A7r and 50 Nocti f/1.0 at f/1.0. Lr5.3 Raw into SEP II. Both color and B&W for comparison. The lighting was overhead fluorescent, and with AWB no adjustments I have to admit I prefer the 50 Nocti f/1.0 on the A7r rather than M240!

Got one today. 24MP is more than enough for what I do. Happened to lay my hands on a Voigtländer 35/1.2 II too. So with darkness allover this country for the coming 6 months or so lens choice was obvious. Shots on the walk home. ISO 1600.
I really like the fullframe rendering that I am seeing here. Quite different from the NEX images thread and closer to the Leica thread. The colors of the A7/A7R also look different to me - at least for jpeg.
Boy am I glad I've kept my CV35/1.2 despite not having used it as much on the Nex. Those shots are great, Wilhelm. I'm sooo ready for a camera I can use at ISO1600 like that!

Shots from last night. A7r with 50 Nocti f/1.0 @ f1.0, 75 Lux Asph @ f1.4 and FE 35/28.
I am loving the AF with the FE 35/2.8, as it is such a fun lens to use with the A7r. I am finding the AF in normal lighting, faster than the RX1R, and sometimes in low light it has problems locking. No problems as the MF function is excellent with the FE 35/2.8. Initial shots with the 50 Lux are great too
I have to admit I prefer the 50 Nocti f/1.0 on the A7r rather than M240!
