More from last Friday's show in Ohio: Lockheed’s P-38 Lightning one of the most influential fighters in WWII.
Over 10,000 P-38s were built, but only about half a dozen are still flyable. This one is called “23 Skidoo”. It's my second time to see a P-38, certainly a visually interesting plane. I think the most-talked about P-38 story is perhaps the ambush of Admiral Yamamoto over the New Guinea jungles in 1943.
I was afraid of getting all blurry shots of such a unique plane at 1/125 second. Thankfully I got some keepers. "Spray and pray" is how I shoot propeller planes.
