Y'all have inspired me to try my hand at some studio portraits. (I normally stick to landscapes, and when I DO photograph people, it's with a photojournalistic style). Unfortunately, I have neither a studio nor a model on hand, so I improvised. I like high-key white backgrounds, so I worked on my bed with white sheets, pillows, and walls. The light is a mixture of ambient light (from our big window and some flexible IKEA lights) and flash. For models, I recruited my good-natured husband and my very eager three-year-old Australian Shepherd.
[Edit] Almost forgot ... I'm looking for comments and suggestions! Thanks!
Love their expressions, dog in #1, husband in #2: priceless!
Did you do something different creating the frames? The shadow corners are rounded in the second picture, where they're square in the first. Intentional?
Yes, I did do something different in creating the frames, but it was an accident! I like the frame on #2 better, but I got frustrated trying to recreate it on #1. I'll have to go back and play with it...
