I am so glad you got to experience such a specialized species. They are truly amazing in so many facets. Most impressive to me is the way that they communicate - especially when food is in their minds eyes. Oh boy, it is a treat and seeing them in what is left of the wild is a surely a bucket list item. Checked!
Well done. Now get posting the rest I know you have a bunch of treasure stacked in those cards.

Brian
You are very right Brian. Watching these guys hunt is an incredible experience. How they communicate so effectively is beyond me. I feel as if I have witnessed one of natures most special events after seeing them hunt.
Just getting on the boards after a little break, and I see you and Eric had an adventure. My jealously level is extremely high.
This first shot, the more I look it, the more I love it. You had the right DOF to sharply capture the lead dog and yet have the pack remain at just the right level of OOF. Any more stopped down, the pack merely looks soft, more wide open you lose the sense of pack. Nice framing of wonderful subjects, which were positioned well for this capture. Nicely exposed too, the ISO 1600 looks nice and clean. If this is cropped, I would be curious to see what you started with - this works perfectly for the intense subjects.

Thank you so very much for such a well thought out comment. Yes there are that many things going on in the shot, all that past experience goes into making shots come naturally, I don't mean to make it sound easy but rather it isn't just luck
Here is an uncropped jpeg, no post work, only reduced in size.
He's back!
Been looking forward to seeing the results of your trip and if this one image is an indication of what you came home with, you must be thrilled. There's something very special about it. You captured more than a good image of wild dogs, you captured, for lack of a better word, their essence. It's stunning and memorable. Welcome home, Tim. Can't wait to see more.

Well, well, if it isn't my neighbor
Yes indeed Maggie I am thrilled beyond words! I saw this on the LCD and thought that this image alone was worth the trip!
Thanks so much for the good words, I do have so many stories to tell!
