Curved bill thrasher nest in the Arizona desert. The nest was buried in a Teddy Bear Cholla Cacti , about four feet off the ground. The chicks were only visible when the mother bird came with their food. I used a Canon FD 300 F4 L lens + 25U extension tube on NEX-7, with a Sony F43 flash. I was only able to use the focus peaking on the nest rim and moved the focus to wher i thought the chicks would rise when the mother arrived.

Those shooting Fuji X which adapter are you using. I have a generic one that is falling apart and need to buy a new one. Can you recommend a good adapter....
I like to take pictures of kids when other people are trying to take their picture because it reminds me why I would never want to try and make a living taking pictures of children.

How do you like the fd 300 vs the 80-200?
I like the additional reach and the nicer focusing feeling.
Corners are quite a bit better, but in the center at f/4 I think the 80-200 is sharper and better corrected.
