Almost missed seeing this barred owl as it was under the heavy canopy with only a narrow window for me to capture an image. This image is uncropped.

I usually have to deal with littl or no light when I see owls but this one still had some filtered sunlight making it through the trees. Sometimes I prefer to be lucky than smart!

I had been searching for owls as this location tends to have a few around that I've been lucky enough to locate. I had already been by this location and was returning the same way that I came and a glance left and there it was. I figure I had gone right by it on the way in and just missed it. Always a rush to find an owl out in the woods.
