So, worst case scenario, the wide-to-ultra-wide RF lens you really want to use looks terrible on both cameras. Do you have a back-up plan or will you lose interest?

Worst case scenario? I use the outstanding Zeiss native lenses (provided the 24-70 is a good lens, we haven't seen the mtf yet).

Worst case? I use it from 35 and longer, keep my NEX 7 for shorter FLs, including my Touit 12mm and as backup.
Then I wait for wide Zeiss lenses to be released for A7. If a 24mm zoom exists already now, it shows that WAs are possible, and Zeiss will deliver as they did the wide Touit.

Worse case scenario?

Alpha lenses -- Minolta 24mm f2.8, Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8
Other SLR lenses -- Canon 17 & 24mm TS-E, Zeiss 15 & 18 & 21mm, Olympus 18 & 21& 24mm, Canon FD 24mm f2 etc.

No worries about having glass to use on this camera!

I will buy it anyway since I believe it's a fabulous camera that does almost everything else right, with the only cons being the loud shutter and slower sync speed. Sony is the most innovative camera company at the moment (along with Leica) imho and will always get my attention.

Oh dear, those corners look pretty horrible. Did you try any other lenses?

Aha, ever the naughty one, to be able to get your hands on a A7R! What does one have to do? Sell one's mother? One's right kidney?
That said, do you consider this acceptable post CornerFix? Which Biogon is it, the G, the ZM, the C/Y?

Looking at the full size image the corners look very blurred ... not much help for corner fix for that unfortunately.

Now that I have looked at the corners in full size, they look less bad than I had been led to expect. Huge resolution also brings greater demands when viewed at 100% magnification. Soft, yes, useable or not, I don't know yet.

As far as I know Philip always uses his ZM 28 Biogon, so not much hope for my 25 ZM Biogon
That is very much a pity because it is such a great lens. But I have hopes for other wide lenses, in particular my 24-35 Minolta MD, I love it.

If it is a ZM 28 Biogon, there is hope for my Elmar 24, at least if my experience from the nEX can be transposed.

G Biogon.
Writing some good reviews so that the right people notice you, i think ;-).

Even better if it is a G 28 (thanks Phillip, and glad about your mother and kidneys -and mine too-!). I could never correct that lens on my NEX 7, whereas my Elmar 24 is just fine thank you. I just hope the same applies!

I cropped that image to a size of aprox. 23mp ( corresponding to the FOV of a 35mm lens) and the new 'corners' look pretty good. So, a very suboptimal solution for the owners of this lens ( ZM 28?, G 28? ) would be to use it as a 35mm. and they still get 22-24 Mpixels, which is enough in many cases.
Let's hope that the real ZM35 performs as well as the ZM/G 28 cropped to 35.

I think the A7R hates Biogons

I've found a shot with a converted G28 on a Leica M-E on getdpi which looks a bit better in the corners. However, it is not an infinity shot so it is not really fair to compare them.

Phillip's shot gives me hope that my M-Hex 28 will be just fine on the A7r.

Months ago I sold all my Biogons off, figuring that the happy accident principle of support of these lenses couldn't be depended upon even for APS-C cameras going forward let alone full frame bodies.

Also parted with my ZM/18 Distagon because 18mm which I'd been using as a faux 28mm on APS-C, planning ahead as on full frame I'd rather have a decent 21 or 24.

Can't claim any prescience, just fear of what the future would hold, sensor/lens pairing wise and it still remains to be seen if these were wise moves or not.

A week from Sunday the local Sony folks are having both cameras available all afternoon along with various metabones and other adapters; I hope to make it there with an M-E adapter, C/Y-E, and some lenses.

I really hope so too. If the M-Hex 28 is fine, then the M-Hex 35, 50, and 90 should be OK and I can sell my other M-mount lenses.
