I purchased a relic a couple months ago! A big, heavy, loud...Mamiya ZD (SLR).
I was drawn to this camera for a) it's sensor size (larger than the current Fuji / Hassy cameras) and b) it's price. The sensor size was important to me as I wanted to do all that I could to get the medium format "look" on digital (shallow depth of field). I'm not sure this camera paired with an 80mm 2.8 is *quite* giving me what I want in that regard but I'm still playing with it. If a 6x6 digital Rolleiflex was made, it would be mine
Anyway, a few images. I'm enjoying this camera a lot so far, but am noticing it can be a little weird with color, especially in the middle of a sunny day. All photos taken with a Mamiya 80mm 2.8. Oh yeah, max ISO is 400, and you better not go anywhere close to that if you don't want noise My friends think I'm crazy...
Awesome photos with the ZD. I'd see the tiny LCD screen and the slow operation as pluses since they prevent chimping. I rather miss the good old Leica S2 for similar reasons.
I agree! It is *slow* and the LCD is terrible, so I tend to shoot and not worry about that.
Having said that, I do find the auto exposure on this camera to be a bit wonky. If there is any semblance of a brighter tone in the scene, it will underexpose. This in particular is not good, since it prefers to bring back highlights than bump shadows it seems. I'm still learning the ropes

Beautiful images. I enjoy them and thanks for sharing.
