Yes, congratulations, Joakim! Lovely shot, too!
Here are some cross-posts from the A7 thread. Otus 55 on A7R, all 3 wide open.
Besides, I tried the 85, and, thank God, didn't fall in love, not even close. Who needs 2 boat anchors?
Thanks guys! For this weekend I hope I can take it out for some landscape shooting working from a tripod if the weather permits. In the meanwhile here is one from earlier this week.
Joakim, excellent work! I am interested to find out if you think a tripod is required for Otus mroe than for other lenses. I had read that, but my experience is that it is not any harder to shoot handheld, and actually easier.
Tough question actually, specially since I haven't used it so much yet. On one hand I find the lens quite nice to work with handheld with its excellent build quality focusing is very precise and the clarity in the view finder helps even though on a Nikon I need to rely on focus assist when working at 1.4, at least on some distance. On the other hand since the lens deliver such quality I am inclined to use a tripod to get the most out of it.
For landscape photo it is my intention to use it with a tripod as much as possible rather that increasing ISO but again I am still new to the lens (and also to my Nikon D810 in a way since I haven't used it that much yet) and there are situations like close ups where handheld is better many times.
But... this is the Otus thread, isn't it? I follow it with great interest and I'm happy to see both 55 and 85 mm images here. A third one? Bring it on. Maybe the OP can rename the thread, a slight change just to avoid confusion.

Why not, if this thread already has a momentum we might as well continue here. Good idea!

Close-up performance of the Otus 55 is astounding. 2 pics with a 12mm tube, handheld, natural light. My M60akro Elmarit is for sale.
Looks good, I have a set of tubes in the bag with me but haven't tried them out yet with the Otus.
