I don't think people are being malicious when they say this set has the same look and feel as the past maternity set, as well as a few other sets with this same background. It's just a fact. This set looks almost identical to the last one.
Is that a bad thing? Yes and no.
It's good to turn out consistent quality in your images. It would be damaging to your brand if you had wildly varying levels of quality. Your clients obviously expect a certain look and level of competency when they hire you.
The bad side is, you are slowly going to pigeonhole yourself into taking the same shots over and over again. As you said, "I've got a whole bunch more of the red-rock sets to show you." What happens when you want to start using different poses, different backgrounds, but your clients just want what you've always delivered? You're going to start to feel like you are shooting Lifestyles school shots. Same background, same pose, with no way to move past it without re-inventing your business.
Meh, there's plenty of variety on my website while still maintaining a consistent style/feel. People know what they are going to get when they hire me. That said, I'm always trying new things. In this session, I was hired to duplicate (or the feel and look of it anyways) another session that she had seen. When I'm being paid good money I'll do whatever they ask me to do. Ironically, despite the jabs about using the red rocks too much, people are traveling to me just to be photographed there. I have a family flying here from TX just so I can do their portraits in the red rocks. So really - I'm laughing all the way to the bank.
And Jeremy, I thought you were not going to post in my threads anymore? Just can't stay away, can you?

Definitely. I can't wait to see what you'll wrap in a sheet next.
Actually, this one I was PM'ed to visit, as I'd mentioned before. I'll stop by your other threads too though if you'd like? For sure critique my images as well!
I personally think that yellow sheet #1 would work best for a groomsman....just make sure he's naked underneath to get the full effect of the sheet and the silhouette.
I will agree that there is a lot of repetitive posing going on, for sure. I will probably hand pick a few to share on my blog so it's not as obvious. lol I do have other poses that need editing but this ended up being my fave look for her (obviously). lol

PS any photos of the girl not from the profile view? So much time spent on her fake lashes but not a single shot of her looking at me with them.
I do, and will include them in her gallery, but thanks to said fake lashes, they are not my favorites at all. They looked much better in profile. Trust me on this. lol
My daughter has a preschool play today that I'm running out for now, but when I get back, I'll edit one up so you all can see. She even commented that she hoped the lashes didn't look too crazy. Well, in profile view they look great. Straight on, they look pretty nuts. :P

I bet she looks hot, like a pregnant minx (mynx?). Who tends to your boatload of children while you are arguing with me on the internets?
Are we still arguing? I thought we were being nice. 8 of the 10 children are in school (1 just being preschool half days) and I tend to the others of course. I am a woman - multitasking is my middle name.
