I found this set to worth viewing. The light and line are compelling and the processing is excellent. I especially like the op's openness to real criticism and particularly like the fact that there is real discussion in many of the posts. We need more of that.

Thanks jobo for taking the time to first look and then to comment. I think there is far to little real conversations about the work anywhere and I agree good, bad or ugly it's really good to have in depth conversations about the work.
Hey airfrog, I haven't been around here much lately, but I have a few minutes so I thought I'd throw a few comments in.
I've enjoyed your work in the past and I didn't feel this set was quite as strong as some of your other work. But here are my thoughts
1 - I do like this one, because it's quirky and has some humor to it. Is that an orange peel in his mouth, like we used to do when we were kids?
2 - I really want to like this one, because of the cool shapes and textures, then the added human element. But something about it, just seems off to me. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe the tilt feeling - but I can't think of a better composition, because I like the balance between the top left and bottom right. Maybe if you could have levitated and looked straight down on it? ;-)
3 - I just didn't feel this one much. It's interesting that JClay, whom I think is a great photographer found this to be his favorite, yet I don't like it much. Makes me wonder if I'm just 'missing it'.
4 - This one didn't do much for me either.
5 - The light here is cool, and the somewhat desolate feel, but again it didn't speak a whole lot to me.
6 - OK, I think this one is absolutely brilliant. The light and shadows are great. And then getting the reflection of the dude - almost like there's a spotlight on him - just fantastic.
7 - Something about this one, I really like as well. The two dudes seem kinda outta place in their nice suits in front of what looks to be a warehouse. And the 'whatchu' lookin' at foo' expression is good. I like how you included all of the two doors, too.
8,9 - Again, ones that I really want to like, but something just feels 'off' to me and I can't put my finger on exactly what. I think on 9, I'm comparing it too much to another shot you have with a lady in a bw dress with street markings and I found that one way more interesting.
#3 is to much like a famous Ralph Gibson (which Ralph freak'n nailed , I didn't) and I didn't realize it until I had processed the image.
Posted it and then started thinking that i had seen this somewhere before. Did a little research and sure enough I had.

#1 he was starting to blow a bubble.
And #9 I am working on a series with that shot of the lady and dress, this image and few others that have a similar graphic feel to them. Starting to print them to see how they are working together. I might have another exhibit next year and starting to work it through.
Andre, it would be fine to skip commenting on photos that don't do anything for you. I do that all the time. It's also sort of OK saying they just don't work for you. If you do comment on those kinds of photos it would be nice to articulate why.
It's not OK to insult the photographer and then ignore his sincere requests for an explanation why you think they are so bad.
So, Andre, it's time to take responsibility for your comment. Apologize or explain.
