I was there shooting a sunset in August but did not have those kinds of colors. I gotten eaten up by mosquitoes, even with spray on. How were they at sunrise?

Thanks! I didn't notice a single one during my entire Banff/Jasper long weekend. I think it was a bit too chilly for them, or at least at the times of day I was shooting.

Only 6 votes? This shot deserves more love than that.
If you know how many, you must have voted, so thanks for the update 6 sounds good to me!

fantastic colors, I hope you took a slightly long exposure of it as well
I took as many shots as I could think of during the colour display. Huge 9 shot wide multiple exposure panos, tight views of the peaks getting hit with hot pink light, but I didn't think to stop down and take a longer exposure. Damn! Im happy with the texture of the water at larger sizes though, its pretty clean.

Looks great man! My only nit is that it's a bit centered up, but with light like that, who cares? Just amazing!
Thanks for the feedback Steve. When I put together some of my larger panos, I'll try uncentering things a bit For this shot I actually wanted it perfectely centered and mirrored, but missed it a tiny bit haha
And I wouldn't normally entertain skeptics Kalina, but here is a shot of my camera 20 minutes after sunrise, using my iPhone, unedited, and uploaded to my Facebook for everyone to see. Nothing to hide. I reduced colour in this shot to get it to print correctly. Sometimes things are actually colourful in real life if you go out enough times to capture it. Blending is pretty much the majority of the work needed here, as well as some ugly grass cleanup.
