You really have a way with the hummers Birdie. Splendid job as always!
Is that a Cuphea 'David Verity' in #4? What type of plant is in your second picture?
Looks like we are in for some rain Wednesday as well with the cold front headed south.
Best,
Tom
Thank you very much Tom. Yes, it is a cuphea, they called it Mexican Cigar. The other one is a Duranta. The hummers love the cuphea and the duranta. They totally ignore everything else I have planted for them .
No way I can pick a favorite, Birdie: these are all truly excellent.
And the sharpness- ooh la-la. (Or however you write such a strange expression- it's French, you know .)
Charlie
Terrific shots! Gives me incentive to keep trying shooting Ruby Throats. Making progress but have a ways to go to get to the level of your shots. Thanks for posting.
Great stuff Birdie. I think your macro roots are showing. 1 is my pick, but I do love the light on the wings in 2 ~ Ron
Oh, go ahead and mention it Thank you so much Ron , appreciate it. I did remove the rain drop
Don't mind Ron, he kind of repeats himself
It seems I too have problems trying to shoot hummers in good light so I feel your pain Birdie. One thing subdued light does do for you is that it allows for so much more detail and these shots sure do demonstrate that. Excellent job on these Birdie. I really like the comp of the last one, maybe do a little work in RAW with a brush to lighting the face up some Oh and kill the white spot!
Tim
Thank you so much Tim , greatly appreciated. I killed the spot and did lighten up the face . Again, thank you so much .
Hi Birdie:
Four well taken shots. IMO #3 is the standout.

Great set Birdie, but that first one is simply stunning!
Greg
Greg, thank you so much. I love your artist eye and appreciate your thoughts.
Beautiful pics Birdie and I love the complementary colors on the flowers in # 1.

Greatly appreciated Martin. Thank you so very much
