Thanks so much for all the kind words everyone Your feedback and comments are VERY appreciated.
@Stanparker - I wish I could have been closer that night! I was actually in Townsend planning on working the Tremont / Cades Cove area, but when the storms rolled though and I saw all the clouds lingering in the mountains I decided to take a chance and hit the overlook. I normally only do that if I'm in the Gatlinburg area. Plus, the hotels were half the price of GB
@skibum5 - Sadly there are a LOT of dead hemlocks to be seen from this overlook, and I'm sure it'll get worse as time goes by. The clouds mask it pretty well in this shot, but when it's clear, the number of dead trees is very noticeable. It's really a shame
Great shot and perfectly-done image from Morton!! I've been there hundreds of times and your shot makes it seem as if I am standing there in person right now and feeling the cool moist breeze on my face! I can look at your image and it seems as if the fog is moving in the valley below (even thought I know it is a still shot). Absolutely perfect image from iconic Morton!! Congratulations!! Joey

Great shot, hard to pull of without catchy foreground...
Thanks - Yeah, getting a foreground I liked was actually pretty tricky - I kept messing with the crop till I got everything as close as I could to where I wanted it.
