These are from a few weeks past up at Glacier NP, at the Logan Pass area. There was still a lot of snow in the backcountry there, but this area had clawed it's way out from under the snow. In the first shot, the sun had set but the afterglow was still hitting the peaks a bit. In the second, it was getting darker and the stars were starting to make their way onto the scene. So I left #2 with a darker feel with the more muted colors that come with the darkness.
I like both of these. The first for the color, the second for the nice twilight look. This is the perfect brightness for an early evening shot with stars. That Samyang is amazing.
Beautiful work Jim. I really like the composition and color. I'm surprised that the Sam yang 14mm yeilds good enough quality for the D800. What is your opinion of the lens? Thanks for sharing these..
Love that first one Jim.....and that lens has done a stellar job. In the 2nd one the sky seems a bit too bright to have stars so prominent...just my opinion of course!
