Hey Jim, I agree with Ben about adding a little more contrast to the scene. But other than that, wow, you've got yourself quite an image worthy of more than a few steaks!

Hey Tuan,

Thanks so much, I will have to see about the contrast, but I do have to say right now, I kind of like the little bit less contrast and the more painterly feel that gives it.

Love the 'glow' in the greens foreground, great hues in the mountains with those mauves. Super sweet on the orange clouds that drag me all the way back to the source just below the mountain top. It is almost as the reflection from the lake cast a nice fill light in this lovely bowl of color
I have just one thing that keeps buggin me a bit, the snow pattern on the right side draws my attention more so the vertical band.........just me
I would love to see it bigger too!
Grand image sir..........

Hey Karl, thanks so much and I am glad you liked it!

As for the snow, actually on one of the other compositions I did, the one posted in my blog, the cropping is a bit different so just a bit of snow was showing on the right side and I cloned it out for just the reason you mentioned here. I was thinking the snow in this shot was a bit more balanced, but I may look at just toning down the white of the snow a bit now that you mention it.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Jim

I love this location and although it is photographed often it can make for a very different photograph every time due to the extremely variable weather that occurs in this area. It can however get very windy and I have seen a person's tripod (with camera attached) fly backwards due to strong and gusty west winds!

I really like this shot. The clouds and colors make it interesting. I however find the colors a bit pastel and smudgey maybe due to the lower contrast on the distant elements (the trees in the foreground have nice contrast). Some hues are a bit funky as well but it makes the final image unique. I would be tempted to darken the foreground trees quite a bit to focus more of my attention on the distant landscape which is stunning.
