I would suggest learning something about exposure and shooting angle, that may help to improve these.
Oh my Kirk, excellent work as always. Nits are you kidding I want these on my drive!!! Goodness the youngin coming into plumage is a precious shot my friend, I just love it. I'm going back and fourth between the last two as if I can pick one over the other, nuh uh, aint happening. Two stunners. Don't know how you got the dof you did in 4 but I'm not complaining!!! The final is making me want to throw all my stilts away

A wonderful set, Kirk- all of them.
Just a bit of sharpening of the first two to match the others, and you have a near-perfect set.
Very enjoyable.
Charlie
Thanks so much Charlie... agree on 1 and 2 needing one more round of sharpening. Good eye.

Great job on these, Kirk
All couldn't be better. The exposure, the bg, detail along with saturation and composition
2 and 4 are special!
Socrate
Humble thanks for the always thoughtful critique and kind words Socrate.
Love your new avatar.
Saw these when the pond stars first returned, but then lost internet access at the airport and couldn't post. But I have no idea what Tim Kuhn is talking about...I think the angle and the exposure on these is almost perfect. (If I were inclined to use emoticons, I might search for one that is playfully sarcastic).
Seriously...this set couldn't be better, Kirk; it captures both a freshness and intensity that we all strive for. My favorite is the Avocet chick precisely for those reasons. Freshness + intensity + gorgeous environment/light.

I'm quite sure Tim appreciates the playful sarcasm... I know I did.
Greatly appreciate the very gracious words and always thoughtful critique Greg.

Beautiful series Kirk! I love the Stilt's. Can't find them with "clean legs" on our coast (always covered with black muck).

We're so fortunate to have year-round Stilts here Ted... and they always show me a great time.
Thanks so much for the very kind words... most appreciated.
