It would be best that he just sell one item at a time, from sale to delivery. Like I thought in the very beginning, it seemed more like somebody that didn't know how to handle himself well with online sales, and then got caught up in all the PMs/emails/banishment and Paypal lockdown, versus being somebody that was trying to scam people out of money. He didn't help himself any with some of his emails and PMs to others.
However, I think, again based on his selling history, he might be able to get back into a good groove, but it will now take alot longer and a ton of work on his part now.
There are a lot of people in the myrtle beach are this time of year. Sometimes they are there for several weeks, and if you are going to sell something to US buyers, it is best to do it while here. Again, sounds like a kid that is spoiled with lots of money, lots of equipment, travels alot with family, and doesn't know how to sell or communicate online properly.
A scammer would have just disappeared, especially if an account was hacked. If the intent is to steal money from others, there would be no value in continuing discussions with buyers and trying to "make right". It just wouldn't be cost-effective.

iggybytes, read back further than teamspeed's post...that is what he told me days ago. Is he helping you now?
It looks like it. He said he updated the notes but I wont be able to see it in paypal so i have to give them a call sometime today. But like teamspeed said a few posts up if he was indeed a scammer why even bother responding to all the text messages going back and forth with people. It doesn't fit the profile. Anyway I'll give an update once i straighten it up with paypal.

May very well be. There's a lesson to be learn from this for all of us. There's been a few scams going lately on this website so I think both sellers and buyers need to be more sensitive to each others' request and need to communicate more then in the past. We have to remember that there's a lot of money involve and people tend to get a little paranoid if they don't get a response quickly.
Agreed... so i spoke to paypal and indeed the seller updated the notes and funds will be returned within 24-48 hours. This is a good lesson for him as well. I did advise the seller if something like that happens in the future you have to communicate with the buyers. Can't just leave the issue and hope it goes away. But like was mentioned before, he is a kid. Hope he learns from this.
Anybody still waiting for paypal to review this claim i would suggest contact the seller his mobile no. is listed somewhere on this thread. Ask him to update the notes on the claim then call paypal to process the refund.
Ya know, I just don't get the excuse at all that "he's just a kid." Bullshite!!! He's big enough and old enough to play in this game of B&S, he's big enough and old enough so that we don't have to enable his immaturity.
So.... here's my message to this twit: "If you can't get straight with what the hell you're doing, get the hell off the Boards and go play in the sand." And all of you all enabling him by providing him with excuses, well, ya'll might want to join him there.
Pretty hard to enable Ryan, considering he has been banned twice, and I don't see anybody just dismissing him because he is a kid. The only discussions here were whether he was a scammer or not based on his behavior. Turns out his behavior was because he was a kid with no experience on the B&S boards, and he wasn't a scammer. There were no other excuses thrown around to condone what he did.
I think it is more a case of paypal locked him out & he had no choice. Why don't all those who were scammed list what they were wanting to buy. I can't believe he just happened to have all the items available to sell, tad too convenient.
He got caught out & people managed to get more info on him than he thought, with a helping hand from his mummy & daddy. Thats why everyone is coming out of this ok, thankfully.
Again, he had high ticket items in the past that made it to their owners, and if you research him a bit through the internet, he had alot of equipment, both canon and Nikon.
He also called one of the scammed members and told him he'd refund his money in nickels after he shoved it up his ass. Got a reasonable explanation for that little part?
I'm with MikeW, scam backfired and he got scared when he realized people could find him. Why stand up for him and try to rationalize it?
I can only speculate that somebody who's got the balls suggested to the little "shite," a good ole fashioned whoopin' out 'hind the woodshed, "less'n you get straight with these folks..."
in this context, just take a trip through the B&S and see the # of posts where "gift," MO's, BoA, Chase Pay, wire transfer's etc are offered up as the means of payment..... so, if'n ya get screwed, ya got what ya prayed for

While that doesn't strike me as the vernacular of Wyndmoor, I definitely agree with your second paragraph. I don't want to see anyone get scammed, and I think people should be free to do as they see fit, but it's really time to stop complaining if you lose your money after using a totally unprotected forms of payment.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents. With the lower quality pics that cell phones deliver, it wouldnt be hard to fake one by taking a pic of a pic. IMO, a good option would be to ask the pic be delivered via email, and then do a reverse image search with google or tineye to make sure its not a pic of a pic or someone elses sale gear. It would at least be one more step to legitimize the product being sold.
Best option to verify the gear, ask for a short video wih the seller in it, not just his voice. With a multi thousand dollar, this is completely acceptable IMO and I would personally request this.
