That doesn't really seem fair. I don't have any feedback here but I have lots of gear to sell. Is Fred going to tell people I'm a scammer too? (btw I DO have feedback on POTN and eBay)

I was able to sell a few thing here, what I did is I post my ebay feedback. I have the same nickname on ebay and have 100% positive feedback since 2003. I have now some feedback on fm. I was mad when I saw thtis thread because, it is already harder for us to buy from us. I just don't get it when people don't want to ship to canada, I sold items on ebay around the world and it wasn't harder to send it elsewhere then canada. The only difference is that I had to fill up a custom forms, which took about 2 minutes of my time and the buyer paid for the extra shipping cost.

Folks in the USA have to stand in long lines at the post office to mail a parcel to Canada, in addition to the Customs paperwork. It's much easier for us shipping stuff to the USA.

Just a note. Could we have a blacklist of scammer emails? And make it public so that anyone can google the email address and be able to see it?
That wouldn't be of much help... scammers are usually not dumb enough to use their own email address. The only people a list like this would identify are the victims who had their accounts hacked.

You can buy the postage, insurance and fill out & print the customs forms all from the USPS web site, really not a big deal.

Do your guys find that there is lots of good deals from US shipping to Canada? I do find good deals there but consider you have to pay taxes (13% in Ontario) for buying used items from US, which you don't pay if you buy from Canada, I stopped looking for items located in US. Do you guys still find there are better deals buying from US even with the extra taxes?

It is usually cheaper to buy in Canada due to shipping and taxes, etc. But, depending on what you are looking for, the selection is vastly bigger in from the US. If you are looking for a fairly common item, you can usually find a good deal in Canada. If on the other hand, you are looking for something less common, you likely won't find it in Canada within a reasonable time frame.

yeah I bought almost all my lense in canada because we have better price for lens. I was not saving enought money buying used compared to new which I get the 5 years warranty. For some items it is cheaper to buy in the us, and for specific lens like 300 2.8 or big telephotos, good luck finding these on kijiji!!!

That's hardly a problem--I shipped something out of the country today, purchased a USPS label online, filled out the proper customs form and printed that as well. Dropped off the box, gave them the customs form, and walked right out. I was in there less than 60 seconds.

I was merely re-stating the reasons most US sellers have given me over the years, for not wanting to ship to Canada. It's good to know the USPS is modernizing some of its procedures.

They have, a bit--it used to be very difficult. A few years ago they let you print postage, but you had to do the customs forms at the PO--now they'll link you to the appropriate forms online so you can fill them out and print. It'll be a lot better if they'd allow you to just submit that information online, but they need to tape those customs forms on the box, so that's unlikely to ever happen.
When it comes to international shipping (military included), usps is absolutely my go-to carrier. The paperwork is a minor headache, but it's really only 5-10 minutes of extra work. Nothing that would stop me from doing business with someone. I can see how others might try to avoid it though.
