Jim, yesterday I did a few shots with the 1.4X II on my 24/3.5 TS-E II. I was quite satisfied with the resolution throughout the frame, so the resultant FL of ~ 34mm is something I can add to my kit. What surprised me (though it may have been mentioned in one of these threads at some point) is that the exif (as reported in Lightroom) doesn't reflect the extender or changed FL. Canon teles and tele-zooms always show the presence of TCs, so I wonder why this is different.

Hi Jess! Nice shots.

I can't recall if, or where, I might have mentioned that lack of identification on the TSE's, but it is consistent throughout the range of four lenses (haven't got the original 24 to check against). Yes, I'm familiar with the 1.4X showing the new focal length on my 100-400L. That's why I typed in the ID of 24+1.4X to keep the photos understandable. Small price to pay though ($200, used), for a new TSE lens, albeit a stop slower!

A quickie PP of a shot from the other night. This is where I walk away from the RAW image and give it into the hands of a real PP person for the final printed image. "A man's got to know his limitations." -- Dirty Harry

The final image will be a composite merge of three exposures: 0.8 sec, 2 sec, and 4 sec.

A couple of shots of the view from Wukoki, a Hopi ruin in Arizona. 24 TSE II, a lot of down shift, no tilt (except me), handheld.

Thanks.

Along with that vague memory that you or someone else had mentioned the incomplete communication, I also have a vague idea that Canon lists the TS-Es among lenses compatible with their extenders. Or maybe not. If not, that would explain why they don't engineer them for extender exif reporting. Not officially supported, not optically designed for good results. And yet they work amazingly well together, IMO. Even Petkal couldn't complain about the negative effect on AF.

^^^Beautiful Rob ! However this thread is full of awesome shots using the ts-e lenses.

I had the pleasure to use both the 17 & 24 ts-e for a week from CPS. At this point I cannot tell you which one I liked more, needed more time.. Difficult to say which one I will go with.

It's been a while since anyone posted on the thread! No one shooting TSE any more?

I got a final approval on the composite/HDR-ish final for next year's Los Angeles IBEW/NECA calendar. Here's from a JPG I cleaned up a bit. They've oversharpened it a bit and probably the colors will be a bit more muted -- will be printed on press, image about 16x20 inches. So, that changes things a bit from screen presentation here.

Fun gig!

Here's two from my recent trip to Battle Harbour, Labrador.

First is TS-E 17/4L with shift. Second is Mamiya C 80/2.8N on Mirex adapter, using tilt to get all in focus, and desaturated to B&W. Both on 6D.

Jess, I liked that shot elsewhere along with your FE version.

Thanks Jim! Nice couple shots I saw of yours too, and think I liked them as well.

Thanks, and let me add my congrats on your calendar shot. Beautifully done.
I've got some other variations on the TS-E shot here if you're curious.

A few from Reykjavik, of the famous Hallgrímskirkja taken with the 24 TS-E at full shift and the stainless steel viking ship and a landscape shot. The two interior shots of the church are 5 shots HDR, which I think came out quite natural looking.
