Being a motorcycle enthusiast, I surely appreciate any form of bike racing.
I have been lurking in this forum for a while, however I have not had a chance to participate.
I usually go to the track with my neighbor to have some fun on the track (riding, not taking pictures), however last Saturday (06/08/13) I decided to take pictures. So I told my neighbor that I wouldn't be riding and would take some pics instead.
And sure enough taking pics of bikes on track is not an easy task, they just move so quickly... lol ...
Since this is my first attempt, please let me know if it can be done better. Any tips on picture taking technique would be appreciated.
Not a bad first try at it, bikes are tough, not much to focus on, and yeah, they scoot.
#1 is too loose to me, it needs to be cropped in, similar to @3. It is also very centered.
#2 is too tight, there is no room in front of the front tire...give the bike a place to go in the frame.
#3 is better, still a bit tight on the front wheel, watch the dust bunnies.
#4, is the angle to emphasize a section of the track, or just to add interest?
On all of them, watch the saturation in the greens, they are a little electric, especially when compared to the one of you. My hat is off to you riders...I don't have the attachments for that...I like my car on track much better, it has a roof and doors, a floor, seatbelts...
Thanks Travis, very good input.
In regard to #4, it's just to add interest.
I like fast cars too, but bike gives me more adrenaline pump

Ed, I don't know why they require to tape all the lights, they are all plastics now a days. They won't shatter if the bike is wrecked. Regardless, I had fun with that bike on the track
the track folks have told me the tape is more about rocks and debris striking them and breaking them...at least on cars, headlight lenses will still break, and the tape somewhat helps them stay in one big piece, and not 50 little pieces on the track.
