Guys & Gals - Thank you!!!
I got lucky that night! I was scrambling on a pretty steep slick rock to try and capture the Milky Way properly. Every time I would set up, then it would move just a little. So I was constantly moving. Also, I attribute the nice stars to pre testing my ideal focus during the day with that lens. I did several test shots using contrast detect AF and so I knew what the absolute perfect and sharpest focus was, and where the infinity symbol should be when I reverted to manual focus that night. So it was one less thing to think about. It's funny though, I got there in the absolute dark time, but then I could sense it when it was just starting to lighten up before the sliver of a moon started coming up. So by 3:45 am or so the sky had completely changed and the stars were fading...
Thanks again!!
