Showed up at the American Windsurfing Tour event at Waddell Creek in Santa Cruz county, California Saturday because a buddy of mine was competing. Spend a few hours on the beach shooting...
Conditions were windy but the swell wasn't great (Sunday event was cancelled because the ocean was pretty much flat) and with a light cover of high clouds. Later in the day the sun cleared up and the angle of the light made for some great shots.
All shot from the beach with a Nikon D3s with a 400mm F/2.0 with either a 2x or 1.7x teleconverter on a tripod with a gimbal head. I didn't have a polarized filter but with the condition early in the day that wasn't too much of a problem.

It's a beautiful spot to sail and/ or shoot, but it can be incredibly knurly too... I was there many years ago, to sail, but I got skunked..! ( I had more luck further north around Santa Cruz.)
Nice shots! #7 is my favorite, with the sailor looking back...
