Here are some images I shot for a Lacrosse Jam here in Michigan. I am not entirely happy with my images from this weekend - but this is the first time I have shot lacrosse in six years. Here are five of my favorites.
Nice action shots. I really like the B & W shot and #5 is very good (minus no ball).
I notice your f/stop and ISO are all over the place. What mode do you shot in? Try to keep the shutter above 500 (minimum for lax) as you can see in #3 some motion blur in the hands and feet.
Grant - first three shots were taken on Saturday. Sky was overcast. I was shooting with a rented 100-400L, which is a 4.5-5.6 lens. I was not impressed. Light was decreasing, so ISO came up to 3200 - the third shot was one of the last of the evening for me.
Sundays shots - the last two, were with a 300 2.8, and a 1.4 extender.
Very nice shots, Andy. With the 5D3 you should be able to go much higher with your ISO and still get very good results. The new sensors are amazing with low light, check out the ISO 10,000 shots in this post https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1145337/0?keyword=5D#10928088
