Thanks! This gentleman's club was a popular destination for GIs from WWII to the Vietnam era, and died a slow death thereafter, closing in 1995. It was featured in the movie, "North Shore," and in the series Magnum PI.
I visited Club Hubba Hubba during the 1980s and marveled at the massive hardwood bar, stripper stage and other vintage appointments. I felt like I stepped into 1942. The lone erotic dancer looked like she had been there since the "big" war.
The empty carcass of Hubba Hubba is currently being converted into a gallery/bar for "young urban professionals" as the old Red Light District is now the Art District. The famous neon sign was just taken down and restored so it looks a lot newer than depicted in my photo.
