Awesome shot Dustin.

I use the Samyang 14mm 90% of the time on my 5D3. I'm actually contemplating making the switch to Nikon just for the D800 / 14-24 combo. Sometimes I'd really like that extra bit of zoom, however, the Samyang really does such an awesome job.

T-Minus 16 days. I planned my trip around being there during the rainy green season, so I should be good (fingers crossed). I also have a super waterproof pack with me and will have everything in ziplocks! Like you, I dont have much back-up equipment

Thanks! You can't go wrong with the D800! I am actually happy with the DR of the D700.

How did I miss this. Awesome shot.
After seeing your post on Nikon gear forum, I was thinking of adding 14mm Bower/ Samyang lens to complement 16-35/F4 lens instead of 14-24.

I've got that same setup, and I've found it to be quite excellent in terms of bang for your buck. The Samyang is certainly a hell of a lot lighter and less cumbersome than the 14-24.

Yeah, you can boulder your way around that pool without a Pelican case (left mine on the other coast), but, its certainly not comforting.

Great shot Dustin. I agree with the others, you got amazing sharpness out of that whole scene. And you weren't joking about that rain...spent most of last week in the gorge with all that rain

Justin, we will go here! And A lot more places yet seen on this forum. Also yes, Oneonta rocks right after (and durring) a hard rain. The log jam can be quite dangerous (in fact my client almost died a few days ago going back on his own). But with care one can get in there in the right conditions and have atmosphere to work with!

Nice Shot D! Love how the fern anchors the photo. I hate the log but nothing you can do about it. Processing and colors look perfect! Keep up the great work man
