Went back down to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah this weekend for round two of the Masters of the Mountains racing series. Warm and very windy, which made keeping the big lens steady quite challenging!

Thanks very much! I wish I could be at Road America, but I told my son I'd shoot his water polo tournament that weekend (which will also be fun!).

Thanks very much. I try to give the racers a variety of angles to choose from. Thankfully I had a scooter to zip around constantly during races to get a bunch of different perspectives.

I used a variety of lenses for these, including the 70-200 f/2.8 IS II, and Sigma 35 f/1.4. Most of them were shot with a lens I rented for the weekend - the 300 f/2.8 IS II, sometimes with a 1.4x TC or 2x TC. WOW what a lens. A couple of years back I owned a 300 f/2.8 and 600 f/4, both of which were incredible lenses. But this one was even better. I can't see any reason why I'd own a 600 f/4 anymore after using the 300 IS II with a 2x TC on it. Smaller, lighter, easy to hand hold, and producing outstanding quality images.
I never needed a monopod through the weekend, all hand held.
