Rain for the last 3 days and more to come for the next 4 days. With that, I was looking in the archives and came up with this post.
My trip to Magee Marsh to photograph Warblers was a bit of a bust due to weather. As we all know, that happens more than we would like to admit.
Here are a "few" samples of the 36 different species of Warblers that migrate through the Magee Marsh in Spring. These photos were taken in 2011 with Karl Witt, Troy Nemitz, Johnny Bravo, and all.
If you ever have a chance, try to make a trip to this area for some terrific shooting.....that is if the weather cooperates.
Might fine Larry and none of these come easy. Your lift off shots are tops, you know I like those
Male Scarlet may bee a tad over saturated? Sure is a standout though!
I really like the B&W, an attention getter without all the vibrance of other Warblers, cool shot buddy.
Nice looking male Butter-butt with fresh blooms, cool
Yellows are nice and vibrant and shot nice tinges of red/orange

Good stuff, have a great weekend!
Karl
Hey Buddy, thanks for looking in. I see what you mean about the male tanager. There was no additional saturated added; this bird is so iridescent in bright light, that I should of desaturated the red a bit. I added the inflight shots just for you...........lol
I see that you live in Illinois. How far are you from Moline, IL?
Each winter, usually in January, I have provide grilled hotdogs and hot chili to the photographers at Lock and Dam 14. Many FMers come there to photograph fishing Bald Eagles. It would be great to have you join us.
Super terrific set Larry... wow, those lift-off shots are excellent!
2, 4, 8, 10, and 11 are my favorites, but I truly enjoyed viewing the whole series... very well done.
Fantastic set! I can't pick a favorite so I won't! I hear you on the rain, it finally stopped here today but it's supposed to get down to the low 30's tonight and then get into the 70's tomorrow....and then a heat wave by the weekend! Spring in New England!
Great set Larry, I think we are all doing the same thing in this lousy weather. The only drought is in the ability to capture images in good weather lately.
