So these actually required a bit more processing. some I am thinking of backing off on the saturation a little, and may need fine tuning. suggestions appreciated. I will include exif a bit of detail in processing where I can.
2. this was shot with my 24 tseII lens. finally got to use the tilt shift.
24mm, f10, 2 shot blend, 2.5 stops apart. I hand blended in layer in photoshop. then edited some more by adjusting the usual stuff (shadow, highlights, contrast, etc
You have some nice shots in this series. Gates of the Valley is probably my favorite location in the Valley, you did nice with it. #2 is my favorite, with #3 I think the scene is too yellow, well, or the yellows are too yellow... but the rest of the colors do seem fine, so perhaps add a bit more orange to the yellow?
#1 is a view from Tunnel View. Though I would crop, or use Warp to pull out that bottom right corner, where there is some rocks. And nice work with the sun in #4.
Overall 3 is my favorite. I don't trust my color judgement but Jim is probably right. But it is my favorite composition and I like it alot. I always prefer having sharp near objects to anchor WA shots. By the way my Samyang while very sharp does produce different colors than my Canon lenses in the same scene and light.
Kevin - Nice series! It's fun looking at your takes since I was just there a week ago and posted here as well. #2 is my favorite and I agree with Jim on #3. Perhaps some slight localized WB adjustment will tone down the yellow tint.
I like 2 & 3. On my monitor, in image 3, I see a hint of green on the sunlit granite. You might try moving the tint slider toward magenta slightly. Thanks for posting.
Kevin: Great images! I will be spending 4-5 days in Yosemite with my daughter next week. Although I have been there before, I am not too familiar with the area, as they have been very short day trips. I am particularly interested the location of your #2 and #3 images. Appreciate if you can tell me how do we get there from Yosemite Valley?
Bob: You have some great images from your trip too! Have not seen you around lately in the OM-D image thread. Have you sold your OM-D or something ... and maybe gone to Fuji or Sony? Please feel free to chip-in with any advise, tips and mention of your favorite Yosemite spots.
What are the best locations for sunrise and sunset images?
