I like the very high contrast because it makes it more of an abstract. Usually I don't care for waterfalls done this way. You might try removing most of the remaining details in the top left and bottom right corners to push it a little more to an abstract.

I'm the opposite of Joe. I like the semi-graphic quality of the composition, but I like to see more details in the shadows. I think if you could do that, and still keep the shadow areas deep, it might look fine.
Still quite nice as is.
