Well Bob- Yes, I do have some thoughts .
The capture and processing seem fine.
But the basic setup doesn't capture my enthusiasm.
My opinion as a NON-still life photog:
The flowers and the vase seem incompatible to one another, and making it a horizontal format seems to exacerbate the problem. Yet in vertical format, the vase would overwhelm the flowers in size alone.
Maybe from above shooting straight down?
But I'm just guessing ($.02 worth of guessing for free .)

Charlie,
Thanks for your thoughts.
The 'subject' is a electro-mechanical Valentines' Day 'thing' - press a button and the bud 'blossoms' (paper leaves with printed messages). So, faux flowers if you prefer.
I'd just mounted a new lens and snapped a couple of frames from across the room, knowing hand-held probably would not do in that light. Anyway, not by design, I happened to like the aesthetics of the lighting and vase. Processed and tossed it into the FM world to see what others might think.
End of story.
And no charge for your guessing
Thanks,
Bob

Greg,
Ah- you threw a screwball pitch and didn't give any advance warning . Shucks- I didn't even know we were playing a game .
I saw the bit of printing, but didn't know what to make of it.
I guess I was expecting another of your excellent flower still-life images, and the comparisons didn't favor this one .
Charlie
Oh, you have it reversed: no charge to YOU for my $.02 worth .
