At the last wedding it lasted the full day without needing to be changed at all (10 hours...300ish frames shot). Slightly bizarrely, the OVF uses more power than the EVF. The reason is that the OVF heads up display needs to be far brighter to stand out against the light coming through the window whereas the EVF is projected on to black.
