I was pretty lucky to have a Summer Tanager hang around for about an hour or so on various perches and lights. Processing such intense red is not so easy for me so there may be variability in the saturation and detail in the feathers...hope you enjoy the red hot summer.

I hope I enjoy summer too Eric, just not red hot!
Superb job on this uber red guy my friend. I love the pose and comp of the penultimate shot
Wish I had one

These are so much more vibrant than my local cardinals which I thought were pretty red...first time I've really dialed down the saturation. Thanks so much Tim!

Very nicely done, Eric.
#5 is my favorite for the nice singing pose. And I like red on green.
Chris
Thanks Chris! Normally I would love my birds to have nice light on them but this is one that does well in shade and subdued lighting and with the foliage as a backdrop.

Thanks Kenny...now if we could convince Mother Nature that it isn't supposed to be 50F in late May maybe summer birds would come our way!

Processing such intense red is not so easy for anybody, Eric. You did very good from what I can see. The good exposure allowed you to capture the detail of the bird feathers.
The green of the bg balance very well the red of the bird
Socrate
Lil
Thanks Lil....it liked to flit in and out of shadows but that one branch with the more uniform foliage behind it turned out to be the best perch.

Thanks, I didn't expect such a big challenge but it is quite amazing how the camera's sensor handles such intense red...processing was interesting to say the least.
