The edit based upon recommendations the original contained a platinum tone which added to the flatness.

Interesting concept, however the image seems awfully flat to me - perhaps more pop while holding the wonderful detail in the blossom?

Very flat to me also, bump up the exposure a bit and recrop by removing the upper area

Lift the darks a bit to show some sort of detail albeit little

Douglas I think it needs a bit more snap (contrast) and the shadows area bit blocked and theres no real white.

I like the platinum tone and the re-edit fits it nicely. Is there any more info in the very dark areas of the flower though? I do think some detail in that area would really make a difference but I would bring the highlights up much more with the platinum tone.
