These are the first shot's I've taken this year. There were a ton of riders at the track (over 90) and I have a 70-200 which is not very long on a full frame, so I was just messing around with some settings, and really not getting the shot's I'm use to getting. Thank you for checking them out.

Nice job on all the shots...great panning work on 1 & 2...while I am not a fan of the angle/position on #1, the shot is crisp and clean. I really like #2, 3 and especially 4...I really like the angle coming at you, and for me the eyes make it. I may have cropped 4 a big tighter..nice job! I am off to an amateur night race this evening, that should be interesting.
mxrider641 Thank you, good luck at the races tonight.

I normally don't get a lot of side shots like number 1, but I wanted to make sure I didn't get hit there were just so much action going on. The last photo is my favorite from the day, I like the angle, and the riders position. I ride also, but not on this day.
pedwatt I was really close, I'm using a D700 and a 70-200 VRII (focus breathing makes is a bit shorter yet) so yeah, I'm VERY close to the track. I just bought a 300 f/4 and I'm using it this weekend. It was overcast, so I didn't have to worry about highlights much at all (overcast the best plus late or early) all handheld.
Mataz 426, thanks for the information, I am looking forward to working on panning stuff this weekend. I honestly don't mind side stuff, it sells, as long as their up on their pegs.
