Trees were greening out at about 4300 feet on the south side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The pale yellow greens were contrasting against the dormant trees up higher. Caught the light as the dawn broke through a early spring storm.

Very nice....love those clouds, would you believe we are getting a lot of similar clouds this week here in Ballarat, Australia, as we move into winter!

I know the green element is nice and green, but I don't think it works for the photograph. The layers of mountain in the back and the cloud formation make the photo, so I would suggest cropping to the very top of the foreground ridge. The clouds still make this a keeper

As Tim said, the clouds make the shot, and I like the bright green foreground, otherwise it would be too drab.
The leading ridge lines bring me to the road, and my first impression is "I don't like the road on an otherwise majestic stretch of nature." But on further thought I realized it belongs there, it's an interesting feature. I would have made the mistake of avoiding that, and then it would be to bland. That's why I'm the newbie learning from folks like you.
