p.1 #1 · Black / white squares on iMac screen...suggestions?

When I am working on images in CS6 with my iMac I keep finding parts of the image are blocked out by black or white squares. As I zoom in or out they can stay in the same place (but also zoom) or disappear as the image gets smaller. I can zoom in again and the problem comes back but the square could be in another place.

Normally just a single square or rectangle, and usually about 15% of the image area. Totally random as well...some images have the issue, some don't, even if similar file sizes.

I wondered if anyone had any experience of this or suggestions. I have tried Google but nothing seems to match my problem.

one thing you might want to try is turning off OpenGL in the PS Preferences.
