p.6 #6 · Sad news - 'Yakim Peled' a dear FM member has died
I'd never met Yakim but from reading his posts over the years, I felt that he was part of our "digital clan" so to speak. I would have liked to have met him for sure.
I think others here certainly feel the same sentiment.
May peace be upon you, Yakim. I will make an effort at Hebrew here: עֲלֵיכֶם שָׁלוֹם

Such sad news, reading his posts, especially the Amsterdam recommendations I couldn't imagine the slightest he was is such pain. So sad.
I will miss reading the "Happy shooting,"

Sorry to hear this. In some of his posts, Yakim had alluded to serious health problems the last year or so. Sorry to hear it caught up with him. Condolences to his family and friends.
p.6 #18 · Sad news - 'Yakim Peled' a dear FM member has died
It is sad news, and as I said on the thread in the Canon forum, he will be missed and my condolences to his family.
I hope someone close to him or living in Israel can pass on his obituary and filling a few of the gaps.
I wouldn't condemn the idea of his suicide, or start imagining he was "depressed" and needed treatment. His death by his own hand might surprise many of us, but there were details in his postings over the last year or so alluding to serious disruption in his life (I may have few of these mixed in order or from other persons): loss of employment, extremely severe health issues, and the sale of his photo gear to make ends meet. Personally, I think there is more to the story than "depressed guy offs himself". I won't be surprised to find he had a terminal illness and waited until the last moments when he could successfully escape being a burden to his family and friends.
I'm just saying: there is always more to the story, and when we know, it will make better sense.
For now, we have our loss and the mystery of his reasons.
