Some sweets shots here Karl! That's a beauty of a bleeding heart plant you got there!
Greg
Thanks Mr Floral boy
My Bleeding Heart is off to a very slow start, not much plant growth this season and my Iris are coming slow but will take what I can get and they are conveniently located too for backyard shooting!
Take care

Oh how I enjoy this set Karl! Wonderful little variety and I love #1 with the light spottedly coming onto the bird, brilliantly displaying the feather detail.
And I have to get me-self one of those Bleeding Heart pot. I'm so drawn to #4.
Khai
I'll put you on the Bleeding Heart mailing list buddy, thanks much on your kind words here!

Karl lovely set
I really like the amount of "environment" in the Prothonotary Warbler shot, it has a great feel to it.
I'm extremely jealous of those bleeding heart plants, I've gone to several nurseries
out here with no luck? Great BG's also my friend
-Tim
Get me your address and I will find a way to send you one my friend
Thanks on the Prothonotary shot Tim, nice to hear you got the 'feel' from it.

All very nice, Karl, and it's also nice to hear that I'm not the only one frustrated by little birds who sit high up in leafy trees! I like the song sparrow best because he (or she) seems to be singing.
Greg
I see too many undersides of these and no matter how many times I shoot them like that I still don't find one worth posting..........trust me I keep shooting and trying though
OK with me on the Sparrow, thanks Greg

A darned fine set Karl!! Lots of appeal in #1. You controlled the exposure/processing well, resulting in a beautiful play of light and shadow. I really like #3. Pleasing tones in that creamy bg. The grey fuzzball and robin have a similar look. Very, very nice. Your bleeding hearts are lovely too, with good separation from the BG. I enjoyed these a lot.
That is a 'darn good thing to hear' coming from you Ken
A most kind thanks buddy......

Fine job on these, Karl. You were able to get some nice isolation and separation of the subjects notwithstanding the vegetation.
The smooth and clean bg, together with the good control of the light and the processing enhances the sharpness of the birds.
Very pleasing images with 3 and 7 being my favorites
Socrate
Socrate I took sooooo many shots last week that were not keepers that it bothered me so I was determined to take better shots and hope for the right opportunities. It was nice that some offerings came to 'light'
Thanks for the kind words on the overall look of the presented images......
Karl, that's a nice collection of keepers.
Love the spotlight in the first image.
Very nice comp/bird in #3. That the smooth BG is still recognizable as trees woks very well.
I prefer #5 over #4. The comp, colors and DOF works very well for me. I'm tempted to pick this one as favorite.
Great pose and comp in #8 with lots of room for the bird to look at.

Exif data must be wrong... these look more like 1DX files than MkIII. Excellent processing work Karl.
Beautiful series with terrific detail, super creamy BG's, and wonderful dynamic and tonal range.
1, 5 (I would be tempted to crop out the partial flower in UR corner), 6, and 8 all made me stop and stare for quite awhile, but they're all really a treat to view.
#1 is my favorite for the beautiful light streaming through the shadows and onto the face of the PW... you should be very proud of this superb image my friend.
#6 SS is the classic pose done masterfully... love it just as presented.
Now that's what I call a good day... excellent work my friend.

You have some great pics in this set Karl.
1 is an interesting shot and I like the way the light is lighting up just from the eye up but at the same time I would like to see a bit more light on the rest of the body. Bit of a conundrum as Ron might put it
Very nice light, poses and bgs in the rest of the perching bird shots with # 8 being having a super comp and pose.
Oh, and nearly forgot, my overall favourite are the Bleeding Hearts with the pair of Hearts with the hint of a treble in the next deal being tops for me. Love the colors and bg there.

Thanks for your visit Martin. I really like the feel and the focus to the head eye in #1, body on my monitor is right for me Special thanks on #8 and appreciation of my Bleeding Hearts
Also thanks for expressing your thoughts on #1, it keeps me in check!

A most enjoyable set of little and mid-size boids and a bleeding heart to make this liberal happy
You had me at the first with that strategically placed ray of light and it went on and on from there. I think spring is on the way....it was 91 in Minneapolis and 40's in NJ....what's up with that! Eventually it will make it to the east coast! I'm having to give the few hummers warmed sugar water to stop shivering
Eric
Glad to hear of your appreciation on these Eric. The weather has been messed up..........where ever 'you' go

A variety of colorful songbirds with very nice composition. I can "feel" the warmth of springtime viewing this set.
For me, this has been the worst spring (so far) for observing all of these species outside the Robin and Song Sparrow. Maybe later this spring?? By this time Palm Warblers are either taking up summer residence here or moving through to the north, but not this year. Most likely it's weather-related, or else my observational skills are really slipping!
It has been a struggle for me too, timing, weather and arrival of the birds has not aligned. Maybe we will see things mid Spring to early Summer that we normally don't
