I've watched tree crews dismantle large trees before, and it's a fascinating process.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought, "this is going to be a great thing to see in pictures"....

.....but the thread did not deliver in any way.

If you don't want to physically remove the stump, there are products that make the stump rot faster. That's assuming it is in your backyard. You could drill a hole in it and put in a screw to fit your camera and use it as a very rigid tripod.
