I like the first image- all the bright lights cover the accumulated litter of big cities: Paris, London, NYC, San Francisco, Shanghai .
Looks like some gigantic kites flying over the city. What are those things in the air?
Second image... picking up TV satellite over the US?

Thanks for looking. Yep, those are kites flying in the sky drawing lines with their LED lights. I have no idea what the needle sculpture is, but if you look deep into the first image, in the center, you can see that object there too. It is well lit up at night.
