I got to spend part of Saturday at the Texas Track a& Field Championship. This was the second track meet I've been to and shot. Lots of fun as it is a target rich environment.
I was warming up as this was going on when I entered. I shot more, but from the other side so heads were facing me. Still. I liked the body position over the bar here.
I liked this perspective and went with this in mind.
Backgrounds were tough. Hate the tent and judge, love the Capital. Couldn't angle it otherwise.
I straightened in in Lightroom, PS6 shows it maybe off by a very small amount, as I looked at the top of the hurdles. And as I scroll the screen, it isn't off much, but I agree it looks tilted.
+1 for #2 , i've done this type of shot myself,as shooting the hurdles is my favourite track event, got to wait another few weeks for the season to start in the uk.
A question more for the others as well as you, on the first HJ, I see you straightened for the bar, but this throws the background off...which is better?
Was going to try and do something like #2 this season, but couldn't make a single track event. Great set here. Panning with people is hard. But you did a pretty good job at it.
So much has changed here. You'd be amazed at the roads and buildings. The Hood Stadium is gone, a new hospital is being built in its place and a new stadium that the high schools will also use for games is over at Clear Creek behind the PX.
