Hey everyone, I've decided to start using the Weekly Assignments to get me out and shooting. Also, I've recently started shooting RAW, and these are some of my first attempts at some light tweaking. Any and all advice you could give would be appreciated. Lemme know what you like, what you don't like. Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Credit to you for taking on the WA. A great way to learn, a large challenge.
Of the three, the middle composition is strongest. There you have nice separation of the main subject from the background, and a background that does not strongly compete. Needs much more sharpness of the main subject.
First really doesnt hold much interest. And the distance between the wall and flower did not allow for separating subject from background. Lighting did not add much and the look is almost as if it was a police line-up. Sorry but kinda flat.
Third works better. However the strong diagonal and black upper left corner pull the eye away from your subject, competing.

the first image would be nicer with more detail brought out in the wall, and make it like a 1/2 stop darker.
i really like the second one, which lens is that?
It's a great lens.
I sold my first one, realizing I virtually never shoot true Macro.
Immediately regretted it, bought another used copy.
I have used it for non Macro close ups, a small amount of macro, portraits, even a couple of landscapes. Sharp!
BTW, if you would rather not see your images re=posted, let me/us know. I will take it down.
So, I went to post in the WA, and it glitched out. I reloaded the page and tried again only to be notified that I had "already posted an entry." Obviously it isn't there...admin help?
