Geez Charlie...you have been EVERYWHERE. Is there any country you have not visited? So many memories that you have captured. This one is, as usual, excellent. Even more than excellent since you were on a moving bus!
Thanks Ratty, MrChile and Ray.
Yes, I traveled a lot for many years. Every continent except the Antarctic, and 50-75 different countries.
Except for my trips to China- where I worked as a tour guide- almost all the travels were on my own dime. My income was modest, so I learned to travel cheaply. REALLY cheaply .
Charlie
Agree with rattymouse, you DO seem to have been just about everywhere, Charlie. Sadly, there's a lot of this country I haven't seen yet, so I do have a few local trips on my 'bucket list' and I hope to get them documented as well as you have done.

I bet traveling cheaply made it waaaay more exciting.
Thanks Kenny, Ratty and Douglas.
We all make choices and sacrifices in life. Hopefully they go well.
Marriage didn't work out for me, so I missed the whole "raising kids" thing; and that was a great loss because I would have enjoyed (most ) of it.
But my compensations worked out mostly okay.
Yes- traveling on the cheap made me vulnerable- but open to new experiences. I was careful about personal health and safety, and the rest was a blast (one week hitching around the Peloponnese in Greece- cost me seven bucks). Back when a dollar actually WOULD buy a cup of coffee. Plus a couple of souflakis from a street vendor .
