Sure, if you don't look too closely, but the same can be said about virtually any Canon lens...

I don't know. It could be just copy variation. But I am pleased. Maybe I am not just trained in "pixel peeping". Thanks for your input. : D

I have the black one. It was one of the 3 lenses I had with me on my trip to Kazakhstan (the first days of May). I have a feeling it failed me when trying to use it as a poor man's tele (i.e. at 85mm and long distance), but was pretty good in the wide to mid range stopped down some.
