As I recall- yes they were. He was setting up a few more things in his small space.
The idea of a super market was totally lacking in the six weeks I spent in the USSR.
How people could earn their livings with so few things to sell amazed me. But- like other economically poor countries I visited- the cost of living for locals was commensurate with their incomes.
