"With cameras like the D800E, which are suited to photography of visually complex subjects, maximizing lens resolution is vital. Though results will vary from lens to lens, the greatest contrast all the way to frame peripheries can generally be achieved at an aperture setting two to three stops down from maximum aperture. Some lenses that offer excellent resolution are listed below."

I wonder if Will has any of the lenses that aren't on this list (I'll bet a large he does) - he has an 800. Maybe if we ask nice he will pop a few up? The only way I'd get to 800 is my 200 f2 VR/TC-20E III & D2Xs in HSC and even THAT, would be cheating.
But wait a minute. Have you taken the liberty of adding lenses to this list? I don't see the pc-e lenses on the published Nikon list. Nor the new 70-200mm f/4, or the 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5g. And all the new 1.8g primes...
Or have I downloaded the wrong list to compare to this same technical guide from last year? Where is the list coming from?

What am I missing?
I do like this little technical guide though.
both the 85 and 28 are on the list, just missing the 50.
This is what I mean. If I download the technical guide and compare to the one I downloaded last year, I still get this same list, and the same technical guide from a year ago. Was it a revised version?
I mean, it doesn't really matter. It is a sales tool, not something cast in stone. It even says "some of the lenses" which implies not all and there are others. I was just curious if there was an addendum or something.
The thing with Nikon I noticed is their lack of consistency and proof reading in literature. When the new 80-400mm was first posted on their web page the description was full of 80-200mm mistakes. I see they finally corrected that. Maybe that same lack of detail attention is also carried over to the manufacturing process now. But wait! I shouldn't even say that because I've had no issues... Or, I just don't worry about them.. Hmmm. They don't show that lens either. They should have just posted a link to the Nikon Store and their lenses!
