Haven't posted much action here lately. Been shooting a lot, but not sharing.
Here are a few shots from a night MLS game I worked over the weekend.
Thanks for looking. C&C welcome, as always.
In this shot it looks like Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall (14) is 2 feet taller than Chicago Fire forward Chris Rolfe (17). I mean, he's kicking OVER his head, but his left leg is still on the ground. Reality: 8" taller
Columbus Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum (30) makes a save on a shot from Chicago Fire forward Chris Rolfe (not pictured) during the second half at Toyota Park. Too bad Gruenebaum lost this match 1-0. He was spectacular.
Columbus Crew midfielder/forward Eddie Gaven (12) falls in front of Chicago Fire midfielder Jeff Larentowicz (20) during the first half at Toyota Park. I loved the look on Larentowicz's face. He also scored the only goal.
Thanks, Russ. I love shooting soccer (football) since there's always something going on, and often lots of tension and athleticism…even though scoring is infrequent by US sports standards.
The biggest challenge shooting at night at Toyota Park is the lighting. It varies from dark to very dark; near the goal is close to an entire stop darker than midfield, and midfield isn't exactly bright. I'm hoping to work a game next month that starts at 12:30 - it will be luxury.
