edit: Thought I would add my inspiration for the processing with the photo. The sky was to look dark and gritty to reflect the battles leading to the victory, while the reflecting pond was left calm and the green grass left in the crop to represent the calm after freedom was won from battle by the Texians. (The monument is a silhouette because of lousy cooperation from the sun/light that day. Plus, I think it works better with the sky.)
I like it. I keep meaning to get over there and do some photography. My great-great-great grandfather participated in that battle and his name is on the monument. It seems each time that I go to Houston, I get in and get out and quickly as possible. I need to go for a weekend sometime. Your photo inspires me to do just that.
Wow, I owe a lot to your great-great-great grandfather! While I am only a 3rd generation Texan (that I know of), my neighbor lives on a farm that was part of the Stephen F. Austin land grants from Mexico in the Comanche lands north of Temple. Thanks for the response!
By the way, I know what you mean about visiting Houston, the traffic and fast pace can drive you home quickly!
